Flipping 2.0–The Next Steps (Grad Course)

(100% Online)

(3 Grad Credits)

Week 1 – Answering the Big Questions
– What does your ideal classroom look like? What is the best use of face to face time with your students? What role will student choice and student voice play? How will students show their learning? Consider these and other important questions when moving toward the flipped mindset. Reflect on how your answers may move you forward with Flipped Learning

Week 2 – Considerations for Creating Great Videos
– Flipped Learning is not about the video, but if we choose to use videos we should consider best practices for making them great. Explore what makes a great video, view selected video exemplars, and get the opportunity to try creating the beginnings of your own blockbuster.

Week 3 – Going Beyond the Video
– What are your next steps? Will you continue to move beyond Flipping 101 toward mastery, project based learning, or another authentic learning model? Investigate what would work best in your class with your students as you move toward your version of Flipping 2.0.

Week 4 – Use This Flipping Technology
– Learn about (and get the opportunity to share your own ideas) the best educational technology tools to help engage every learner through improved communication, creation, and curation opportunities.

Week 5 – Reflection
– Share your plan for the next steps you will try that should keep your Flipped Learning environment moving forward. Reflect on what you still need to learn.
